I am predominately a self-taught Chicago-based artist who for years has abstained from participating in the modern world of art. The reason for abstaining was the notion of "the starving artist." It terrified me. I wasn't prepared to make financial sacrifices for the sake of art. Like most artists, I create what I like, I create what inspires me, and I create for the pure joy of creating. I have no pretenses. I don't expect to be appreciated, celebrated, or curated as an artist. The process of creating brings me great joy and I only wish to share that joy with others who are moved or inspired by my work.
I'm not going to tout on and on about my education, my awards, my accomplishments, my gallery shows, or published pieces because frankly, outside of my education, I've got nothin'. However, my baby cake video did go viral on youtube. Yay me!
Finally after many years of "hobby painting", soul searching, and numerous job/career changes — all of which had nothing to do with fine art — I have decided to slip into this skin: the skin of an artist. The act of exposing my work to the world, is a frightening endeavor, but one that I must do in order to find true happiness.
I hope you enjoy my work, my thoughts, and my creative process and adventures. Thank you for visiting my site.
